Agent setup
Install an agent on each Linux machine that should run commands. Supported architectures are amd64 and arm64; the installer configures a systemd service.
Enroll a machine
Open Machines → Add Machine in your server and run the generated command on your target machine. The installer requires root access, curl or wget, sha256sum, and tar.
It creates the ohmyjob service user and verifies the downloaded release against its published SHA256 checksums. Treat the enrollment token like a password while it is valid.
Check the connection
omj-agent doctor
If the machine stays offline, confirm that the server URL is reachable from the machine and that your reverse proxy allows long-running requests. Check the systemd service logs:
sudo journalctl -u omj-agent -n 100 --no-pager
The agent troubleshooting reference covers credentials, protocol compatibility, and lost runs.
Upgrade an existing agent
Re-run the installer without re-enrolling:
curl -fsSL https://ohmyjob.sh/install.sh | sudo sh -s -- --no-enroll
This replaces the binary while retaining enrollment. Read the agent changelog when upgrading.
Install manually
If you prefer to inspect and install the release yourself, follow the manual installation instructions. They cover checksum verification, file permissions, the service user, and the systemd unit.
For configuration keys and file locations, see the configuration reference.
